Real Property

Real Property Management is responsible for all real estate-related functions for the City of Everett. These functions include real property acquisitions and real property rights, (i.e., fee simple, easements, rights of entry, slopes, permits, licenses, etc.) for projects that include street widening, utility (sewer, water and drainage) systems, library expansions, fire stations, parks, trails, and any other associated municipal uses. 

Real Property Management provides expertise in negotiations, appraisals, appraisal review, relocation assistance, escrow closings, recordation, and contract compliance. When required, acquisitions are accomplished in accordance with the “Federal Policies and Procedures of Relocation and Real Property Acquisition” together with the Revised Codes of Washington and the Washington Administrative Codes.

Real Property Management is responsible for revenue and acquisition lease negotiations, lease preparation, asset management, as well as the marketing and auctioning of surplus property or property rights in accordance with the Everett City Charter. Real Property Management also administers the street and alley vacation procedures.
